Sony owes me for this one

It’s so funny because I bet no one anywhere sold out of bluray players or PS3’s (I should also note that I love my PS3, have a PSP, and buy all my new movies on bluray… so don’t flame me Sony Fanboys. I’m one of you). Anyway… there are some guests in this comic! So lets get to talkin about that:

In the first two panels we have Chris from The Ego & The Squid. In the second set of panels, we have “Noob” from Failed Objective. And in the third set of panels we have Dave from Happy Hour. All of these comics are part of the comic collective I started (you can find us by clicking the OffTheWall-Comics dropdown on the right side of the site) and they were nice enough to let me use their characters instead of  having to design my own guests for the store. Their comics kick some serious ass, so you’d better check out their stuff asap.

Thanks for sticking around, it’s been a rough year for me and the comic’s update schedule, but 2010 will hopefully be better on both.

Two years ago today I started posting comics under the moniker boozeathon4billion. Back then it was a simple comicgenesis site with a single-frame, gag-a-day style comic that updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They weren’t even colored, just black and white. It was a simpler time… and for those of you wondering why the comic says 2007-2009 and has a higher # on the top of each comic than there are on this site, this blog is what you’ve been looking for…

It all started as a way to use the weird and unpublishable ideas I had for comics while putting off the ones I was doing for my school’s weekly newspaper (it was a small college). Every Thursday night I had to turn in a comic, something fairly small and simple, for the school paper to put in their Friday paper. I would usually start working on it the day it was due, if not as late as within a few hours of when it was due to go out to print… but I would be looking for material all week. The one catch was that it had to be related to the school, so, of course, the best ideas I had each week had nothing to do with the school (or at least nothing that was publishable). My friends at the time enjoyed the off-topic ones I’d done while procrastinating and so I thought, “why not try the wonderful world of webcomics again?” And from December 24th, 2007 until September 1st, 2008, I used the comicgenesis site and simple, gag-a-day format to pump out regular comics.

Those comics aren’t hosted here because, in September 2008, I moved to the story/character based comic style you see now and even wandered on over to my own server so I could use WordPress/ComicPress and have full domain integration… but I’ve been working on the old site some, to make it into an archive of that 9 month period I like to refer to as B4B’s incubation period (and what would end up being the true pre-cursor to Gleeful Nihilism). It’s not fully revamped yet, but it’s at least navigatable again… so feel free to check it out at the above “comicgenesis site” links in this blog… or via the link below:

And, as always, thanks for reading!
